CHECKING-IN |
| |
What do I have to do to check-in? |
| |
| It's a pretty easy procedure. The representative will check all your documents, verify identification, provide keys to your cabin, and often take an imprint of your credit card for onboard purchases. Usually your dining information is also confirmed during the check-in process. If you are not happy with your table or dining arrangements, you will be asked to speak directly to the maitre d' onboard so he can do his best to honor your requests. He is also the one to talk to for any special dietary restrictions. |

Are visitors allowed onboard? |
| |
| In most cases, visitors are not allowed onboard due to safety and security issues. If you are having a wedding onboard, your guests must be cleared by the cruise line in advance. Never assume you will be able to get around this rule. In matters relating to security, you can pretty much count on strict adherence to the company's policies. |

Can I bring my own liquor onboard? |
| |
| Most cruise lines do not allow you to bring your own liquor for consumption onboard. Of course, they do not restrict you from purchasing liquor in port or from their own shops if you plan on taking the bottles home with you. |

Can I upgrade or change my room? |
| |
| Usually, the ships are full by the sailing date and no cabins are available for upgrades or changes. When they are available, you miss out on the extra discount Cruise and Resort would probably have been able to offer you if booked when you made your original reservation. Nevertheless, if you are not happy for any reason, we suggest you express your concern to the cruise line representatives at the reception desk. They will try to do what they can to rectify the situation. |

What if my luggage is lost? |
| |
| If you find that your luggage did not arrive on the flight you were on, immediately report the missing bags to the airline and cruise line representatives. Usually the luggage is found prior to the cruise departure and delivered to the ship in time. If it is found too late to make it to the ship in time, both the airline and cruise line work together to see that the bag is waiting for you at the next port of call. |
| When you are part of some cruise lines' air/sea programs, the luggage might be transferred directly to the ship, and you never see it at the airport. (Do not assume this is the policy of your cruise line. Check you cruise documentation package for specifics, and verify at the arrival airport.) If you were not able to see your luggage at the arrival airport, you won't know if your luggage is missing until it doesn't show up in your cabin. Immediately bring your baggage claim ticket to the reception desk onboard. They will attempt to track down your luggage. Don't worry too much. Usually the luggage is on the ship, but mistakenly brought to the wrong cabin. If not, the cruise line will notify the airline and arrange to have your luggage delivered to the next port of call. |
| If you checked your luggage in at the pier yourself, you at least know it got to the ship. If it is not delivered to your cabin door by departure time, report it to the reception desk. Again, the luggage is most likely sitting in front of the wrong door. They will usually find it within hours. |
| Very few pieces of luggage are actually lost, but we strongly recommend our travel insurance policies for extra protection relating to delayed or lost luggage...just in case. |
